Downeast Rover is a 55-foot topsail schooner offering sailing tours into the Roanoke Sound daily. The ship’s home berth is right on the Manteo waterfront, and several restaurants are close by if you want to pick up a meal or snacks to take on your cruise. You’ll see Roanoke Island and Nags Head from the water plus birds of all kinds and perhaps some dolphin. They also take a sunset cruise in which you’ll watch the sun setting into the sound. Two-hour day cruises are $35 for adults and $25 for children younger than 12. Two-house sunset cruises cost $45 for all passengers (including children). You're welcome to bring whatever you'd would like to eat or drink (alcohol and coolers are fine). Downeast Rover is also available for private charters for up to 25 passengers at a very reasonable price.
