Take a tram trip around the refuge and learn about the wild lands and wildlife. Bring your binoculars and camera, drinking water and insect repellent. Dress for the weather. Tram seats are hard, so you might want to bring a seat cushion, towel or blanket to soften the ride. To guarantee a seat you may call and make a reservation, which cost $10 per person; children 12 and younger ride free with a paying, supervising adult. Those with reservations will be seated first. June through August the tram runs on Thursdays from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Special off-season Saturday Tram Tours run from 9 a.m. to noon several times a year; 2018 dates are on May 12, September 8, October 13, November 10 and December 15. No tram tours run during heavy wind, rain or lightning. Meet at Creef Cut Wildlife Trail parking lot at the intersection of Milltail Road and U.S. Highway 64 in East Lake. Call to make reservations and to confirm tour dates and times.
