While you're on Roanoke Island, don't miss a chance to visit The Museum Store at Roanoke Island Festival Park. The only Outer Banks shop of its kind, it features historical gifts and collectibles that include the representative sailing ship, the Elizabeth II, American Indian Town and more than 400 years of Outer Banks history. Celebrating American handcrafts, The Museum Store features hand-blown glass, pottery, metal garden art, and silver and mixed-metal jewelry. They showcase North Carolina pottery, soaps and leather goods, too. Nature-inspired copper jewelry, books and maps are also on display, along with local peanuts and jellies. And you'll find plenty of swords, hooks and pirate treasure for your little swashbuckler. The Museum Store is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. A small selection of their best-selling items are available in the Ticket Sales Shop daily.
